Who is a Leader?

Theresa May’s party in 1980s called Mandela a “terrorist”.

Meanwhile, there was an activist who was clear on his views on apartheid.

Time showed us that his political stand was correct on Iraq and WMD debacle too.

Time will prove his views are correct on Palestine as well; supporting the Palestinian struggle is not anti-Semitic.

A leader is the one who stands with the oppressed. Then and now; not now and then.

Bullies on the street… this time against Syria

Obama has warned Syria against the use of chemical weapons.  UK too joins US in warning Syria.

Bullies are out again, against yet another sovereign middle-east country.   The lie has been started by US President; head of 51st US state, Cameron, is singing along.

World has seen this duet before – last time, the lyrics contained “WMD”; this time the followers of Goebbels chant “chemical weapons”.

Please note: it is only a week before that Syria has assured the world that it will not use chemical weapons against the rebels!  Obama took cue from this statement and realised that a war cry against a far-way Muslim country is a good boost for his election campaign.

The world CANNOT afford another Iraq and Afghanistan.  Instead of sorting out the mess they created, how can US and UK think of starting yet another invasion?

Of course, I am not against a solution for the Syrian crisis – but please, not by Western intervention!  The issue should be resolved peacefully by UN mediation – and it should start with a ceasefire, urgently put in place by UN leadership.  It is high time UN live up to its responsibilities and stop bullies from bullying around.
